The descaling injection valve is mainly used in the hot-rolled descaling system of the metallurgical industry. It is installed on the pipeline with water as the medium to remove the oxide skin on the surface of the steel plate or billet.

The descaling injection valve is installed at the terminal of the descaling system. Under the action of the air source pressure of the control system, the valve is normally closed. When the steel plate or billet enters the predetermined station, the control system obtains the descaling signal, the two-position five-way solenoid valve is electrically switched, the valve is opened, and the descaling system starts to spray high-pressure water for descaling. When the steel plate or billet leaves the predetermined station, the control system gets the end of descaling signal, the two-position five-way solenoid valve is switched, the valve is closed, and the descaling system spray descaling ends.
In the descaling system, the high-pressure water generated by the high-pressure water pump enters the descaling nozzle. Under the action of the nozzle, the high-pressure water forms a fan-shaped water beam with great impact force and is sprayed onto the surface of the billet (or intermediate billet). Under the action of this high-pressure fan-shaped water jet beam, the scale has undergone a process of being cut, quenching and shrinking, peeling off from the base material, and being washed away from the surface of the billet (or intermediate billet), thus removing the scale. When high-pressure water is hit on the surface of the billet through the nozzle, the following changes will occur: the fan-shaped surface formed by the water flow is like a sharp blade, which cuts the dense iron sheet and forms cracks. It can be seen that the thin fan surface has greater impact force. High-pressure water passes through the crack and encounters rapid vaporization and evaporation of high-temperature base material, forming a blasting-like effect, stripping the iron oxide scale and base material. After being impacted by water, the iron oxide scale shrinks when it meets cold, resulting in transverse shear force, which stripping the iron oxide scale and base material. The scouring action of the water jet with a forward inclination scour the already loose iron sheet.
