The descaling injection valve plays a vital role in the whole descaling process, and its quality and performance directly affect the safety, product quality and economic benefits.
The descaling system is already one of the core equipment in modern heavy plate production, which is related to product quality and production output. As the requirements of product quality are getting higher and higher, the pressure of the descaling system is getting higher and higher, and the descaling frequency is getting higher and higher. The descaling injection valve plays a vital role in the whole descaling process, and its quality and performance directly affect the safety, product quality and economic benefits. It requires long life, strong anti-pollution ability, good sealing performance, flexible action and so on.

The descaling injection valve is mainly composed of the main valve, the driving part and the control part. As shown in Figure 1, the main valve is a balanced slide valve structure, including valve body, plunger (spool), bushing and seals. The driving part is a double-acting cylinder, which is composed of a cylinder tube, a piston, a cylinder upper cover, a cylinder lower cover, and an indicator sensor. The control part adopts pneumatic control, which is composed of pneumatic triad, one-way throttle valve, two-position five-way solenoid valve and other components. The control components are all loaded into the control box. When the steel plate or billet enters the predetermined station, the control system obtains the descaling signal, and the two-position five-way solenoid valve is electrically reversed (see the air control schematic diagram shown in Figure 2). Compressed air enters the lower cavity of the cylinder. Under the action of the cylinder, the plunger overcomes the resistance and moves upward. The valve is opened. High-pressure water is connected to the valve outlet through the window on the slide valve. The descaling system starts to spray. When the steel plate or billet leaves the predetermined station, the control system receives a signal to end the descaling, the two-position five-way solenoid valve is de-energized and switched, compressed air enters the upper cavity of the cylinder, and the plunger moves downward against resistance under the action of the cylinder. The non-window section of the plunger coincides with the valve outlet, blocking the flow of high-pressure water, the valve is closed, and the descaling system spray descaling ends.
