One is that the medium can enter from the bottom of the valve core. The advantage is that the packing is not under pressure when the valve is closed, which can prolong the service life of the packing and replace the packing when the pipeline in front of the valve is under pressure. The disadvantage is that the driving torque of the valve is relatively large, about 1 times that of the upper flow, and the axial force of the valve stem is large, the stem bends easily. Therefore, this method is generally only applicable to small diameter stop valves(DN50The following),DN200The above stop valves are all selected for the flow of medium from above. The disadvantage of the medium entering from above is exactly the opposite of the entering from below.
From the sealing surface: the sealing surface of the globe valve is a small trapezoidal side of the valve core (see the shape of the valve core). Once the valve core falls off, it is equivalent to the valve closing. The gate valve is sealed by the side of the valve core gate. The sealing effect is not as good as the globe valve, and the valve core falling off will not be equivalent to the valve closing.
